Châtel is in the heart of the Franco-Swiss ski domain called the Portes du Soleil.
The domain, one of the largest in Europe, covers 12 resorts: 8 French, including Châtel, Avoriaz, Morzine, Montriond, les Gets , St Jean d’Aulps, Abondance and La Chapelle d'Abondance; and 4 Swiss: Champéry, Torgon, Morgins and les Crosets-Val d’Illiez-Champoussin.
In all it has over 400 miles of ski slopes, well-served by 194 ski-lifts all accessible using a single, inclusive card.
The Châtel ski domain itself offers a wide range of superb holidays and magnificent opportunities for skiing, both for those who come for the life and scenery on the mountain and those looking for that ultimate experience on the slopes!
Châtel consists of two main sectors: Barbossine / Super-Châtel and Linga / Pré-la-Joux, lying between 1100m and 2200m (3600 ft and 7200 ft).
The Châtel ski domain has 48 ski slopes : 5 black, 16 red, 16 blue and 11 green with a total length of 90 km and 45 ski-lifts.
The inclusive Châtel ski pass is also valid for the Swiss resort of Torgon, the Corbeau section of the Swiss resort, Morgins, as well as the Braitaz section of La Chapelle d’Abondance. In all 58 ski-lifts, 130 km (80 miles) of superb, thrilling ski slopes (71 slopes)!!
